The Summer season is a great time for students to explore a new interest. Check out these fun music camps we are offering at Government Street Baptist this summer. The first three camps are for piano students and the last one is open to more instruments. We hope to offer many more things like this in the future. Princess Piano Camp
June 11 – 15 $120
Rising 1st grade – Rising 4th grade
This week is for the princesses! We want Cinderella, Ariel, Jasmine, and all of their friends to attend. All princesses will learn basic piano skills and will perform them at the closing ball.
Star Wars Piano Adventure
July 16 – 20 $120
Rising 1st grade – Rising 4th grade
Journey to a galaxy far, far away to become wise in the ways of the piano. Discover how to play themes from Star Wars and use the force to create your own musical composition.
Harry Potter Piano Camp
July 30 – Aug 3 $120
Rising 4th grade – Rising 8th grade
Come to Hogwarts for an exciting week of musical adventure as we explore the piano, learn themes from Harry Potter, conduct with our “wands,” play rhythms, and create a composition. (For students with at least one year of piano experience)
Each camp listed above will be from 8:30 – 12:00 and will contain a full of variety of activities including games, music theory, keyboards, costumes, and snacks! Each week’s activities will be unique and specific to the theme. Camps are open to any student with little or no piano experience so it is a great way to “try out” the piano without committing to a full year of lessons.
Rock Band Camp
July 23 – 27
This will not be your average summer camp!
Each student will be placed in a band and will learn songs from the recent decades of Rock. Students will rehearse with a group, gain experience on their instrument, study rock music history, explore music theory, and perform in a live concert. Tuition is $160

Gospel Singers of America in Pass Christian, MS.
GSA is a three week gospel music camp that I have attended every Summer since 1992! I have been teaching guitar and piano there since 2003. We always have a great time including music, worship, and fellowship. This camp focuses on music theory, sightsinging, ear training, instrument playing (piano, organ, guitar, strings) and solfege (do re mi). It is open to students of any age (though most are age 8 – 16). GSA has an average attendance of 100 students and features a beautiful beach view.
